Halifax's response to a much needed queer comedy show in our bustling city! Come for an evening of laughter and stay after for a night of dancing and fun at Halifax's new queer bar Rumours! This is a safe space to let loose, so bring your friends, family, or even the grindr date you met today. Hell you might even meet your grindr date at the venue!

Our first show is headlined by the incredibly talented, hilarious, queer, and sexy Alva-Marie Sparkles! Fresh off debuting her sketch comedy, “General Insurance” at the Halifax Fringe Festival. Sparkles has been a fixture in the comedy scene for over a decade.

Sparkles is like a cone of moon mist ice-cream that became sentient and turned out to be a little pervy. You may have seen her host bingo, burlesque, trivia, or Yuk Yuks comedy. This actress, writer and comic, has been on Eastlink, Geeks versus Nerds, Fringe Festival and Lunenburg pride. She has been featured in The Coast for speaking up about mental health and the healing power of humour. She has even been nominated for Halifax's Best Comedian of 2024.
