Willy's Birthday Show for Charity

To celebrate my birthday I have decided to do it the only way I know how, and that is to help other people. We're hosting a charity show at 127 Portland St to raise funds for Canadian Children's charities that support helping children escape situations of abuse and exploitation.

I have asked some of my funniest friends to come fill your night with laughter and joy, so please come join us and support kids all over Canada.

This line up includes Dan HendrickenClare BelfordKyle Carpenter and Chris Halef, four very accomplished Canadian comedians who are sure to leave you sore in the tummy from laughing so hard. With venue support from the lovely Jane of the Dart Gallery, this show will be one for the books, you won't want to miss it!

A little bit about your comics:

Originally hailing from PEI, Dan Hendricken is one of the top comics from the Maritimes. He cut his teeth in comedy at the Yuk Yuk’s Club in Halifax and in just a few short years was featured on CBC TV as part of the Halifax Comedy Festival. Dan has since gone on to tour all over the country as a headlining comic, even performing at the flagship Yuk Yuk's in downtown Toronto. Dan has been seen on CBC TV and heard on CBC Radio (with CBC’s LOL) and has performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival and Hubcap Comedy Festival. Fans find Dan charming and hilarious. He draws the attention of every audience he performs in front of with his charm and likeability, keeping them laughing and entertained the whole time.

@danhendricken

Clare Belford is a comedian and a very nice person. Hailing from northern Alberta, she cut her teeth early on by forcibly telling deeply personal jokes about womanhood to drunk tradesmen. Nowadays she is a veritable fixture of Canadian comedy. Clare has performed at festivals like Just For Laughs, the New York Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival and she appears on CBC’s New Wave of Stand Up. She writes for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and her debut album, The Entire Cabbage, plays regularly on SiriusXM, and was named one of the Best of 2021 by Bullseye on NPR.

Combining wry observation with warm-hearted self-deprecation, Kyle Carpenter is a bearhug of a man and a BC Transplant to the East Coast. He is the co-writer of the award-winning Fringe play, "50 Shades of Vinyl," a completely unauthorized erotic parody of the works of Stuart McLean, and has been heard on Sirius XM as part of Just For Laughs Originals.

Chris Halef is an Assyrian-Canadian comedian based out of Halifax and in just a few short years, he's become one of the East Coast's fastest rising talents. Chris' comedy is a great mix of conversational-style jokes and storytelling, tackling many subjects like his Middle Eastern heritage, relationships and society. In 2023, he recorded for JFL Originals, appearing on Sirius XM, and made his first appearance at the Halifax Comedy Fest where he recorded for CBC Television.
