Coup Comedy Takes Over the Ellis Building
Coup Comedy is coming to Vancouver to take over the Ellis Building on Main Street!
This one of a kind show features some of Vancouver’s funniest stand-up comedians, followed by an after party with live DJs .
Featuring Simon King, Amber Harper-Young, James Trotter, produced by Quincy Thomas and Javier Hernandez.
Simon King (Instagram, Youtube) completely changes a room when he takes the stage. Aggressive, truly insightful and possessing a unique explosive delivery all his own, he bombards and challenges the audience with intelligent and flat out hilarious material at break neck speed. With more than twenty years of professional stand up under his belt, Simon effortlessly plays everything from theatres to comedy clubs to dive bars. With numerous national television and radio appearances including Comedy Network, CBC, CTV, TBS, Comedy Central and TBS among many more his resume speaks for itself.
Amber Harper-Young (Instagram, Youtube) tours her absurd colourful style of self-deprecating (TMI) material, closing independent shows from coast to coast. Her hilarious and wildly audacious jokes are inspired by her unique and somewhat feral upbringing. She also shares her highly relatable stories on the trials and tribulations of navigating adulthood. Her performing highlights include: Just for Laughs NorthWest (Vancouver), The Comics Lounge (Melbourne, Australia), The Del Close Marathon (NYC), YYC Comedy Festival (Calgary). Amber has also had the honour of opening for Canadian comedy legend Mike MacDonald (Just for Laughs) on multiple occasions, as well as Darrin Rose (Match Game, CBC's Mr. D), and Brent Weinbach (Comedy Central, Conan).
James Trotter is one of the rising stars of Vancouver stand-up comedy. Mentioned as one Underground Comedy Club’s “Comics to watch in 2026,” James regularly opens for touring headliners at the House of Comedy in New Westminster, and performs all over the Lower Mainland.
