A portion of proceeds from this performance will support The Whale Museum and Friends of the San Juans, two organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving the unique marine ecosystems of the Salish Sea.

Forrest Shaw, former marine biologist turned comedian, gives a voice to the ocean—and trust me, it has some things to say.

The Ocean Hates You! is a comedy show about pollution, overfishing, climate change, plastic waste, and all the many ways humans have managed to frustrate the most important ecosystem on Earth. Through stand-up comedy, science, audience participation, trivia, and a healthy dose of dark humor, Forrest explores why the ocean might not be our biggest fan—and what we can still do about it.

But this isn't a lecture. It's a funny, engaging, and surprisingly hopeful night that celebrates the incredible life beneath the waves while examining the challenges it faces. Audience participation begins right at the start of the show with ocean-themed trivia and interactive surprises woven throughout the evening.

Before becoming a comedian, Forrest spent more than a decade as a marine and environmental biologist in Florida, where he led manatee protection efforts and managed large-scale water quality and habitat monitoring programs. His work included seagrass, coral reef, and sea turtle conservation, often in collaboration with state and federal agencies.

As a comedian, Forrest has appeared at Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Just For Laughs Montreal, and Moontower Comedy Festival. His television credits include Conan, Live at Gotham, and Jim Jefferies and Friends. His debut comedy special, Poor Decisions, is available on Amazon.
