Scott Porteous/Herbert Henries
Scott has spent the last year proving he’s Canada’s hardest-working comedian—because being the funniest comedian sounds like way too much effort. He has produced multiple successful shows and tours across the country, bringing laughter to audiences coast to coast. You may have seen him on Canada’s Got Talent as his quirky alter ego, Herbert Henries—the self-proclaimed Comedy Dangerist—or even in Reader’s Digest, because apparently, his complaints are worth publishing. Scott’s comedy style is rapid-fire, packed with jokes that range from delightful to dark, dirty to dad-worthy (sometimes all at once). Sure, he leans into self-deprecation—because, well, he’s earned it—but don’t worry, he still loves himself more than his jokes do. When he’s not touring, he runs The Joke Gym, a weekly open mic at Club Happenings, and produces Comedy Invasion shows across Manitoba, giving both new and seasoned comics a place to work out their material. Whether on stage as Scott or as Herbert, one thing’s for sure—you’re in for a night of smart, sharp, and occasionally unhinged comedy.
