Scarlet Chen

Originally from China, Scarlet Chen “accidentally” found her true calling on stage after years of working behind the scenes in film. Since her stand-up debut in 2022, she has performed at international comedy festivals, opened for comedy icons like Maria Bamford and Julie Kim, and branched into theatre by writing and debuting her first play. Following a breakout word-of-mouth success at the Nanaimo Fringe, Scarlet is now taking her acclaimed solo show, Citizen Chen, on the road for The Island Tour. Supported by CANCOM (The Foundation for Canadian Comedy), this tour serves as the final countdown before she heads to the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe for a massive 24-show run. Scarlet continues to speak funny—and the world is starting to listen.
