OK, DOPE Fridays The Mint presents Alex Forman and Aaron Read

OK, DOPE is proud to present Improv Comedy with Alex Forman and Aaron Read live at The Mint Friday, February 2nd. Come see the best improviser Canada has to offer is this one night of improv! Alex Forman Alex realized she wanted to be a performer from a young age. She loved singing, acting and dancing and while attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts 15 years ago, she discovered her passion and obsession for improvised comedy. She continued to train and perform with some of the best improv companies Canada has to offer, including Second City Toronto, Calgary’s Loose Moose where she won an international comedy competition, Vancouver Theatre Sports League, Vancouver’s Urban Well Improv, First Time Last and recently with Victoria’s famous Paper Street Theatre. Alexandra was a cast member in the monthly comedy panel show The Mash, and a regular cast member on the local tv show, Girls on Grapes. She is currently studying with Upright Citizens Brigade. Alexandra is a co-creator of the Victoria local improv/sketch comedy group called Entertainment Village which performs monthly sold out improv/stand up shows. Off stage you can hear her alongside Nash Park as one half of the OK, DOPE Podcast. Aaron Read Aaron Read is an award-winning stand up comic and improviser from so-called vancouver, canada. His comedy wedges itself somewhere between sad-silliness and freaky psychedelia, and has garnered him numerous awards including Just For Laughs North West’s, Breakout Artist Of The Year and Toughest Act To Follow. Starting comedy in highschool Aaron has been confusing and delighting audiences for more than fifteen years. He’s performed on The Next Wave of Stand Up on CBC and New Faces Of Comedy at The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. He even garnered this fun blurb from country/comedy publication Parton and Pearl saying, “He’s the alt-comedy of the early 2000s for today’s quick thinking comedy nerds”. Live comedy is where he is most at home, performing on Andy Kindler’s Alternative Show, and opening up for Jena Friedman (Comedy Central). Woof, Bio done! Just come watch Aaron tell jokes about old haunted music and barfing dream snakes.
